Every May, Ohio's Magee Marsh receives dozens of species of warblers as they pass through on their northward migrations. The birds are decked out in their brightest colors for breeding season, and the 10-day Biggest Week in American Birding festival invites tens of thousands of birders to enjoy the view, May 5 - 14. Whether you're a new or experienced birder, birds are fascinating to watch, but it’s not so easy to photograph them. Wild birds usually don’t pose where you want and, moreover, it’s often difficult to get close enough to take quality pictures. But if you know some basics of bird photography, it becomes much easier to capture amazing moments of the birds’ life.
HeART Gallery will honor this birding tradition with an exceptional exhibit of bird and wildlife photos captured by avid outdoor photographer Fred Young of Butler, PA. His photographs and note cards are for sale.
To further celebrate the arrival of spring and birds in the area, a Spring Tea party will be offered in the Parlor. Reservations for Spring Tea can be made by email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Suggested donation is $20-$25 per person. Men are invited to join the ladies this month for homemade scones, white cheddar quiche, cala lily sandwiches, lemon tarts and an assortment of miniature sweets. Tea is served in the beautifully appointed parlor, styled like an English castle with antique cup centerpieces
