INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY
HeART Gallery partners with Midwest He|ART| and US Together on
International Dot Day to welcome refugees and asylum seekers
through the universal language of art. Members of the community
are invited to participate by painting “dot boards”, as inspired by
Polish artist, Wassily Kadinsky. The collaborative art event uses 8x8 individually painted pieces that begin with a single dot, then are framed into larger pieces. The September 20 event will also showcase artwork that has been collected and donated by
local artists, to provide refugee families the opportunity to turn
their living spaces into homes. Many local art teachers are also
exhibiting their "summer projects". Wow! So many great ideas!
This unique hands-on gallery event, invites the community to
participate by creating a gift of art for our local refugee families,
and includes live music, dips and sips and Raffle Baskets. The event
will be held Thursday, Sept. 20 with a Lunch & Learn program from
12-1pm and Art Loop Gala 6-9pm.
