Go Fund Me . . .Outdoor Mural: the heart in the heart of Toledo

Are you sick of looking at this? We are!

We are asking for your help! The outside of our church building does not reflect the vibrant activity happening indoors. It is an eye-sore for those visiting the Courthouse and Government Center, or attending programs at the Valentine and frequenting the restaurants in our area. Our goal is to improve the outdoor environment to reflect the same dynamic energy that occurs in all of our businesses and work places. We have established a fund for the creation of an outdoor mural on this parking lot wall (facing the Valentine Theatre). This will help create a colorful backdrop to the work and community engagement we all provide.

Money raised would also provide beautification in places around the entire building where a free-lunch program is served, and many outdoor community activities take place (5K runs, parades, Jeepfest, Government Center rallies and civic events). As part of the Toledo Art Loop and Adams Street Corridor, our downtown corner boasts great restaurants and emerging businesses. We hope the mural will visibly show our commitment to bring people here as part of the arts and entertainment district. Muralist Kodi Klocinski is well-known for murals in the downtown area, most recently the Salinas Roofing Company. Kodi is owner of Toledo Tattoo on Summit Street. Donors to the mural project are invited to watch Kodi paint and celebrate National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day in the parking lot on Sunday, April 11 at 4pm. Guests will receive a fresh grilled cheese sandwich and root beer float, enjoy live music and watch muralist Kodi bring our corner to life. Rain date for the event is Sunday, April 18 at 4pm.
