SACRED THREADS EXHIBIT
SACRED THREADS FIBER ART EXHIBIT
Thurs Oct 19 4-9pm
Fri Oct 20 4-9pm
Sat Oct 21 10am-2pm
The SACRED THREADS exhibit is a unique display of 40 art quilts based on themes of Joy, spirituality, grief, healing, and peace. This is not your "typical" quilt show. Each art piece is accompanied by a narrative describing the inspiration or event that guided each artist in their creative process. The artwork themes provide thought-provoking insights, encouragement, inspiration and healing responses to grief and human hardships.
Curated and juried in Philadelphia, the traveling exhibit includes work from fiber artists around the country, and has attracted a wide array of visitors of all ages. The exhibit is a positive influence on the human spirit, giving joy as well as addressing concerns of the soul and mind. Music, conversation areas, and refreshments further enhance the show, making it a thought provoking, yet joy-filled experience.
Additionally, guests can participate by completing a quilt for the Lutheran World Relief Refugee project. Quilts made by local Lutheran churches will be displayed and tagged identifying areas around the world where quilts are sent in crisis situations. A quilt was also will be raffled to raise funds for this refugee ministry.
