CIVA Toledo June 30 at 6:30pm

Join CIVA Executive Director Lawan Glasscock for dinner and round table discussion on Wednesday, June 30 at 6:30pm. CIVA (Christians In Visual Arts) has been actively engaged with creatives for the past 45 years.

CIVA has been "Called to Creative Work, Devoted to the Church, Present in Culture" . A membership organization, CIVA is made up of artists, educators, gallery professionals, churches and art departments from across the US (and, increasingly, across the world!). They have published many journals, and offer a variety of themed traveling exhibits in many mediums.

What is the state of liturgical art in the Midwest? How do

Christian creatives collaborate? Where does one gain support and encouragement as an artist? How and

where is Christian art represented?

Take advantage of this opportunity to share on a personal level while engaging and connecting with the artistic

community of the greater Toledo area.

The event will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 North Erie Street, downtown Toledo. Home to HeART Gallery, St. Paul's has been actively involved in establishing alternative ministries and community engagement projects. Several community driven art projects will be on display, as well as quilted wall hangings from Sacred Threads, a juried exhibit focusing on fiber expressions of life's journey.

To attend, contact gallery director, Kate Philabaum at kate@stpaulstoledo.org.
